LAZER QUEST in San Antonio

Coach and I took the kids to San Antonio to go iceskating yesterday. Oops! Coach messed up on the rink times and they were closed.....not my error : ). So instead, we took the kids to Lazer Quest to play lazertag. We had about 15 kids and it was crunk.
We played against random people who showed up at the same time. Some of the little kids were blastin us up. Overall we finished fairly well.

Some of the kids and Coach decided to play Dance Revolution. That was hilarous to watch.

Afterwards, we stopped for ice cream at ColdStone Creamery.

Tivy vs. SA Christian

Spending time at a home game....and guess who was there???? None other than DAVID ROBINSON himself. My buddies son, Tyler, and myself took a snap shot with the man. How awesome!

Salvation Army Dinner

vision.youth was asked to represent Tivy High School at the Salvation Army Annual Dinner at the Inn of the Hills. I took some of my most faithful kids with me. They had a great time with some of our finest community members in attendance. The guest of honor was a retired NFL player who is now a motivational speaker. It was good food, good company, and overall a good time. Coach snapped some shots of us with the guest speaker. He let all the boys put on his NFL ring!

Visiting Aggieland

Coach and I made a trip to College Station to visit some of our former vision.youth kiddos. They are currently in attendance at either A&M or Blinn. We are so proud of our kids and what they were able to accomplished. Each one of our kids is capable of attending college to further their education and chances at a better life.

Game Night With The Kids

Calvary Temple Church sponsored a game night for all the kids
of the community. It was a fun time for all the kids. Some of
them walked away with prizes.

Hanging out at our new house

We have our vision.youth kids over almost every night out of the week. We recently were given a pool table....that has been alot of fun. We also now how a wii that we spend alot of time mastering.
We do cookout nights and campfire nights where the kids help me build a campfire and then we roast marshmellows and make smores.

The kids also bring over there homework and plug away until its done. If they get stuck, coach is there to get them going again.

Basketball with my boys

We spend alot of our time on the courts. I open the gym for my boys and their friends several times a week. It is a great time for us to spend together. We not only get to work on our game, but we get to exercise and form strong bonds with one another. Here are some fun snap shots.

Swimming and Basketball

I took some of my kids to the Olympic pool this afternoon. We met up with others that were all ready there. We played pool basketball. It was a hot, sunny day....and there wasn't a better way to cool off.

Golfing with the boys

Coach and I took two of my boys golfing yesterday. We played teams....them against us. We only played the back 9 due to time constraints and the heat. It was a blast. We worked on our swing alittle bit but mostly enjoyed each others company. We played best ball.....and we were ahead the entire course until the last whole. Coach can't drive to save her life and I happen to have a slice that put us off into the water. So we lost by two strokes in the end. Oh well.
What could be better then playing a sport ya love, in the summer time, with kids ya love?! I am a blessed man.

Frustation got the best of me on one hole. Unfortunately Coach had the camera ready when I showed it. Haha.

In Loving Memory of my BFF Crystal Haynes

Crystal was called home by our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 15th, 2009. She was in a fatal vehicle accident that claimed her life while on the way home from church. She leaves behind her husband, daughter, and son.

Crystal was a GREAT christian, woman, wife, mother, friend, leader, musician, and role model. She was not only the youth minister for Calvary Temple Church....she was also the pastor's secretary, the praise and worship leader, and piano player for Sunday service.

She had a passion for the kids of our community. And there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for anyone. She will be missed by everyone who knew her!!! I love you Crystal.

R.I.P. my dear friend. I will see you soon.

Summer with my kids

It has been awhile since I have posted but we have had so many wonderful things happenning. So many that I have trouble even remembering all of them. But here are a few to catch you up:

Coach and I took my kids to a San Antonio Missions Baseball game. We had a wonderful time at the ball park. One of my kids caught a ball.
We saw two fans, at two different points in time, get hit with bats that the batter let go of after the swing. It was crazy hot...but we would do it again in a heart beat.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This last Saturday two of my kids spent their afternoon learning how to bake all sorts of goodies. Coach go the boys started and then let them take over the baking. We used them to sell on Sunday morning between services. The funds will go toward their camp fees. We are trying to get as many vision.youth kiddos to summer church camp as possible.
We raised enough so far to get four kids to camp, fully paid....with just one Sunday. We plan to do this for several more Sundays. The kids had a great time learning how to make baked goods. The two boys said that they were going to go home that night and make rice crispy treats for their parents. :)
Now we're cooking. Once Coach gave us alittle direction...we couldn't be stopped.
Everyone took turns icing cakes. We made 8 total...all different flavors.
We also made rice crispy treats, brownies, and various mini-loaf breads.
The boys cleaned everything up themselves.
All FINISHED!!!!!
